Mendon Centennial Camporee

Dear Local Scouting Leaders and friends,

Get ready to celebrate a century of Scouting in Mendon! We are thrilled to announce the Mendon Centennial Scout Camporee, a large-scale event designed to foster community awareness, skill development, and the scouting movement.

Event Details:

• Dates: October 9th-12th, 2026 (Friday through Monday, taking advantage of the holiday weekend, main events Sat/Sun)

• Location: Inman Hill, Mendon, MA

• Theme: "100 Years of Mendon Scouting"

This inclusive community celebration is projected to host approximately 300 youth and adults, including Scouts from associated towns, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and alumni.

Prepare for a weekend packed with:

• Traditional Scouting skills competitions (knot tying, fire building, orienteering, pioneering)

• STEM-focused challenges (geocaching, forestry, environmental biology)

• Historical exhibits and a "Scouting Origins" station

• Campfire programs with skits, songs, and an awards ceremony

• Construction of a pioneering camp gateway

• Backpacking, open field camping, and day pass options

• Public safety display
